We're looking forward to another great Wednesday night of food, fellowship, and growing together in our understanding of God. 📖 This Wednesday | Foundations: Who Is God? Over the past few weeks, we've been studying the nature and character of God, learning more about who He is and what Scripture reveals about Him. This Wednesday, we're going to do something a little different! Students will use what they've learned to complete a creative project that will serve as a reminder of God's nature and character. Their creations will become decorations in the Youth House, serving as ongoing reminders of who God is each time we gather together. Our goal is to help students remember that knowing who God is changes how we see Him, how we trust Him, and how we live each day. 🍽️ What's for Dinner? This week's menu: 🌭 Hot Dogs 🧀 Mac and Cheese 🍦 Ice Cream for Dessert! Dinner begins at 6:00 PM, followed by our activities and lesson. 🏠 Parent Challenge | Who Is God? Parent Update...October 5
Parent Update | This Wednesday Parents, here’s what’s coming up this week in Student Ministry! This Wednesday | 6:00–8:00 PM Grades 6–12 🍽️ Dinner: Creamy Ranch Chicken 📖 Foundations: The Character of God This week we’re continuing our Foundations series as we talk about the character of God. Last week, we looked at God’s nature—who God is. This week, we’ll build on that foundation by looking at His character—what God is like. We’ll explore Scripture to see how God describes Himself and what His character means for how we know Him, trust Him, and live in relationship with Him. Parent Challenge — Before Wednesday Sometime before Wednesday night, ask your student: “If you had to describe what God is like using three words, what words would you choose?” Don’t worry about finding the “right” answers. Let them explain why they chose those words. Then share three words you would use to describe God. Encourage your student to come Wednesday ready to compare your answers with what we discover about God’s character in Scripture. 🙏 Pray Together Before Wednesday, take a moment to pray with your student. Ask God to help them see more clearly who He is as we open His Word together this week. 🎃 Coming Up: Pumpkin Party! Don’t forget—the last Wednesday in October is our Pumpkin Party! We’ll be carving pumpkins, eating pumpkin-themed food, and playing pumpkin games. Students are welcome to wear youth-group-appropriate costumes. This is a great night for students to invite a friend, so start thinking now about who they could bring! It’s going to be a gourd time!

Parent Update-September 28
Parents, here’s what’s coming up this week in Student Ministry! We’re looking forward to another Wednesday night of eating, playing, connecting, and growing together. This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 30 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Meatball Subs We’ll eat together, play a game, spend time connecting, and continue building a foundation for what we believe and why we believe it. 📖 This Week in Foundations: Who Is God? There may not be a more important question than “Who is God?” What we believe about God shapes the way we understand ourselves, the world around us, and what it means to follow Jesus. This week, we’ll focus on the nature of God—helping students understand who God is. Then, next Wednesday, we’ll continue the conversation by looking at the character of God. Our goal isn’t simply for students to know more facts about God. We want them to grow in their understanding of who God is, so that they can increasingly know Him, trust Him, and follow Him. 🏠 Parent Challenge: Start the Conversation Before Wednesday night, take a few minutes to ask your student: “If someone asked you, ‘Who is God?’ how would you answer?” Then give them space to answer in their own words. The goal isn’t to quiz them or see if they can give the “right” answer. Instead, use the question to start a conversation and get a glimpse of how your student currently understands God. If the conversation keeps going, you might ask: What makes you say that? Where have you learned that about God? What is something about God you don’t understand or have questions about? Then, after Wednesday, come back to the conversation. Ask your student what they learned about the nature of God and whether anything from the night added to or changed the way they answered the question. You don’t have to have all the answers. One of the simplest ways you can disciple your student is to talk about God together, listen to their questions, and keep pointing them back to His Word. 🎃 Pumpkin Party Is Coming! The last Wednesday in October will be our Student Ministry Pumpkin Party! We’re planning a fun night with: 🎃 Pumpkin carving 🍽️ Pumpkin-themed food 🎲 Pumpkin games Students are welcome to wear costumes, as long as they are appropriate for youth group. This is also a great night for students to invite their friends! Start encouraging your student now to think about someone they could bring with them. We’ll share more details as we get closer. It’s going to be a gourd time! 🎃 🙏 Pray With Us Please pray for our students this week: Understanding — That they would develop a biblical understanding of who God is. Questions — That students would feel comfortable asking honest questions about God and what they believe. Trust — That knowing more about who God is would lead them to trust Him more deeply. Growth — That these conversations wouldn’t simply give students more information, but would help them know, love, and follow God. Thank you for partnering with us as we support you, the primary disciplers of your children, in helping them know, love, and follow Jesus. We’re looking forward to seeing our 6th–12th grade students Wednesday, September 30, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Youth House! Praise God. Serve Others. Cultivate Disciples.

Student Update- September 21
Wednesday is coming! This week we’re continuing Foundations and learning another tool that can help you understand the Bible when you read it for yourself. And yes…there will be pancakes. 🥞 Eat • 🎲 Play • 📖 Grow ⏰ Wednesday | 6:00–8:00 PM 📍 Youth House Here’s the plan: 🥞 EAT — Pancakes & Sausage! 🎲 PLAY — We’ll have some fun together and plenty of time to hang out and connect. 📖 GROW — We’re talking about the different kinds of writing found in the Bible and why they matter. Bring your Bible! 📖 This Week: Why Does Genre Matter? The Bible is one big Story, but it contains many different kinds of writing. There’s history. Poetry. Prophecy. Wisdom. Letters. And more. Think about it: you don’t read a poem the same way you read a history book. You don’t read a letter the same way you read a proverb. The same is true when you read the Bible. This Wednesday, we’ll learn how recognizing the genre of a passage can help you better understand what you’re reading and what God is communicating through His Word. The goal isn’t just to learn a bunch of Bible terms. We want to give you tools that help you read and understand the Bible for yourself. 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Want to see the difference genre makes? Read these two passages: 📖 Psalm 23 📖 Mark 4:35–41 Then think about: What is different about the way these passages are written? What does each passage teach you about God? Why might it matter that one is poetry and the other tells us about an event in Jesus’ life? You don’t need perfect answers. Just pay attention to what you notice. Come Wednesday ready to talk about it! 🙏 Prayer Challenge This week, ask God to: Give you a desire to spend time in His Word. Help you understand what you’re reading. Use His Word to shape the way you think and live. And remember, if there’s something going on in your life that you’d like us to pray about, we want to pray for you. 📱 Text your prayer request to +1 (844) 790-9381. 🌧️ Giant Banana Split Update We know some of you have been waiting for the giant banana split! Because of the rainy weather, we’re not doing it this Wednesday. But don’t worry—we’re saving it for another night when the weather cooperates. 🎃 Pumpkin Party Is Coming! The last Wednesday of October is our Pumpkin Party! We’re planning: 🎃 Pumpkin carving 🍽️ Pumpkin-themed food 🎲 Pumpkin games You can also wear a costume as long as it’s appropriate for youth group. And this is a great night to invite a friend! We’ll have more details as we get closer. 🏀🎵 We Want to Show Up! Playing a sport? Have a concert, performance, play, competition, or another event coming up? Let Michael know! Send Michael your schedule, a screenshot, or just the date and time of your next event. When we can, we want to show up and cheer you on! 📱 Stay in the Loop Want to make sure you don’t miss what’s happening in Student Ministry? 📱 Text STUDENTS to +1 (844) 790-9381 to get Student Ministry updates sent straight to your phone. 📧 You can also subscribe at the bottom of this update to be notified by email when new Student Ministry updates are posted. 👋 See You Wednesday! 6:00–8:00 PM at the Youth House Bring your Bible. Parent Update- Week of Sept 21
Parents, here’s what’s coming up this week in Student Ministry! This Wednesday, we’ll continue our Foundations series as we help students learn how to read and understand Scripture for themselves. This week, we’re looking at the different genres found in the Bible and why recognizing them matters when we read God’s Word. This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 23 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Pancakes & Sausage 📖 This Week in Foundations: Genres in Scripture The Bible is one Story, but it contains many different kinds of writing. This week, students will learn about genres found throughout Scripture, including history, poetry, prophecy, wisdom literature, letters, and more. Why does that matter? We don’t read a poem the same way we read a history book, and we don’t read a letter exactly the same way we read a proverb. Recognizing what kind of writing we’re reading helps us slow down, pay attention to what the biblical authors are communicating, and understand God’s Word more clearly. Our goal isn’t simply for students to know the names of different genres. We want to give them practical tools that help them become more confident reading and studying Scripture for themselves. 🏠 Parent Challenge: Read It Differently Sometime this week, take a few minutes with your student and read Psalm 23 and Mark 4:35–41 together. Then talk about these questions: What is different about the way these two passages are written? What does each passage teach us about God? Why might it matter that one is poetry and the other tells us about an event in Jesus’ life? You don’t need to turn this into a lesson or have all the answers. Let your student do some of the thinking. Ask questions, listen to what they notice, and talk about it together. The goal is simply to open God’s Word together and practice recognizing how the kind of writing we’re reading helps us understand what God is communicating through it. 🌧️ Giant Banana Split Update It looks like we’re going to have some rainy weather, so we will not be doing the giant banana split this Wednesday. Don’t worry—we haven’t forgotten about it! We’ll save it for another night when the weather cooperates and we can enjoy it together. 🎃 Looking Ahead: Pumpkin Party The last Wednesday of October will be our Pumpkin Party for students in 6th–12th grade! We’re planning a fun night with: 🎃 Pumpkin carving 🍽️ Pumpkin-themed food 🎲 Pumpkin games Students are welcome to dress in costume, as long as costumes are appropriate for youth group. This will also be a great night for students to invite a friend. We’ll share more details as we get closer. 🙏 Pray With Us As we gather this week, please pray: For understanding — that students would learn to read Scripture carefully and understand what God is communicating through His Word. For confidence — that students would become increasingly comfortable opening and studying the Bible for themselves. For desire — that knowing how to study Scripture would lead to a deeper desire to spend time in God’s Word. For transformation — that students wouldn’t simply learn more about the Bible, but would be shaped by God’s Word as they follow Jesus. Thank you for partnering with us as we help students know, love, and follow Jesus. We’re looking forward to seeing our 6th–12th grade students this Wednesday from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Youth House! Praise God. Serve Others. Cultivate Disciples.

JOIN US FOR 21 DAYS OF PRAYER
From September 13 through October 3, Prince Street Church is setting aside 21 days to seek God together. During these 21 days, we are encouraging everyone in our church family to pray one simple prayer each day: “Holy Spirit, help me see where You are at work today and give me courage to join You.” To help us pray together, we are sharing a new post each day on the Prince Street Church Facebook page. Each post includes a short reflection and a specific prayer focus based on one of three prompts: Spirit, lead me. What does God want to do in my life? Spirit, lead our church. How is God leading Prince Street Church? Spirit, lead us into our community. Where is God already working around us, and how can we join Him? Visit our Facebook page each day to follow the campaign and pray alongside your church family. We have also created a phone lockscreen featuring our daily prayer. Download it below and set it as your lockscreen as a simple reminder to pause, pray, and pay attention to where God is working throughout your day. Whether you have participated from the beginning or are just hearing about it, you can begin today. Visit our Facebook page, download the lockscreen, and join us in prayer.

Parents, Join us for 21 days of Prayer
Prince Street Church has begun a 21-day prayer emphasis, September 13 through October 3. During these 21 days, our church family is praying one simple prayer each day: “Holy Spirit, help me see where You are at work today and give me courage to join You.” Parents, we would love for you to participate—and to invite your family to pray with you. Here are three prompts to help you begin: Spirit, lead me. Give me patience, wisdom, and grace in the way I speak and respond at home. Spirit, lead our church. Help Prince Street Church support families and become a spiritual family for people in every season of life. Spirit, lead us into our community. Show our family a neighbor, classmate, or local need that we can pray for and serve together. You might pray together at breakfast, around the dinner table, at bedtime, or during the drive to school. Then ask one another: Where did you notice God at work today? Whether you begin today or have been praying from the start, we invite your family to join us. #21DaysOfPrayer #PrinceStreetChurch #SpiritLeadOurFamilies

Student Update Week of September 14
This Week in Student Ministry — Student Edition We had a great time at Uprise Fest this weekend! Thanks to everyone who came and spent the weekend with us. It was a lot of fun worshiping together, listening to some great music, and having extra time to hang out. Now it’s a new week, and Wednesday night is coming! We’re continuing our Foundations series with a really practical question: How do you actually read the Bible and let it shape your life? 🌮 Eat • 🎲 Play • 📖 Grow ⏰ Wednesday | 6:00–8:00 PM 📍 Youth House Here’s the plan: 🧀 EAT — Grilled Cheese & Tater Tots! We didn’t get our grilled cheese last week, so we’re trying again. 🎲 PLAY — We’ll have some fun together and plenty of time to hang out and connect. 📖 GROW — We’re continuing our Foundations series and learning how to read Scripture for ourselves. Bring your Bible! 📖 This Week: How Do We Let the Bible Shape Us? We’ve spent the last couple of weeks talking about why we can trust the Bible and what we believe about Scripture. We learned from 2 Timothy 3:16–17 that Scripture is God-breathed and is meant to teach, reprove, correct, and train us. But how does that actually happen? This Wednesday, we’re going to give you a simple tool you can use anytime you open your Bible. When you read Scripture, ask these four questions: What does this Scripture say about God and His character? What does this Scripture say that God does? What does this Scripture say about who we are? In light of this Scripture, how do I get to live? You don’t need to be a Bible expert to read and understand God’s Word. These questions can help you slow down, pay attention to what Scripture says, and think about how it shapes your life. 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Don’t wait until Wednesday to try the four questions. Read Titus 3:1–7 and ask the Four Questions above. Write down your answers or just think through them. Pay special attention to the words “But when…” in verse 4. What changes in the passage, and why? You don’t need to come up with the “perfect” answers. Slow down, pay attention to what the passage actually says, and come ready to talk about what you discovered Wednesday. 🙏 Prayer Challenge This week, ask God to: Give you a desire to spend time in His Word. Help you understand what you read. Show you how His Word should shape the way you live. Help time in Scripture become a regular habit in your life. And remember, if there’s something going on in your life that you’d like us to pray about, we want to pray for you. 📱 Text your prayer request to +1 (844) 790-9381. 🏀🎵 We Want to Show Up! Playing a sport? Have a concert, performance, play, competition, or another event coming up? Let Michael know! We want to know what you’re involved in and, when we can, come out and support you. Send Michael your schedule, a screenshot, or just the date and time of your next event. We want to show up and cheer you on! Bring a friend. Come hungry. And come ready to learn how to open God’s Word and let it shape the way you live. See you Wednesday!

Student Ministry Parent Update-September 14
Student Ministry Parent Update | This Week We had a great time together at Uprise Fest this weekend! It was good to spend time with our students, enjoy the music and activities, and continue building relationships as a Student Ministry. This Wednesday, we’re back at the Youth House and continuing our Foundations series. We’ll move from talking about what we believe about Scripture to something very practical: How do we actually allow Scripture to shape the way we live? This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 16 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Grilled Cheese & Tater Tots Since we didn’t end up having grilled cheese last week, we’re giving it another try! 📖 What We’ve Been Learning Two weeks ago, we talked about why we can trust the Bible. Last week, we built on that by looking at 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Scripture is God-breathed and is given to equip us through teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. This week, we’re asking the practical follow-up: How do we actually allow Scripture to do those things in our lives? This Week: How Do We Let the Bible Shape Us? We’re going to give students a simple framework they can use when reading Scripture for themselves. We’ll encourage them to ask four questions: What does this Scripture say about God and His character? What does this Scripture say that God does? What does this Scripture say about who we are? In light of this Scripture, how do I get to live? Our goal is to help students move beyond simply knowing things about the Bible and learn how to engage with God’s Word and allow it to shape what they believe and how they live. 🏠 For Parents: Use These Questions at Home These four questions can be a helpful tool as you disciple your student at home. As parents, you are your student’s primary disciplers, and everyday conversations around God’s Word are an important part of helping them know, love, and follow Jesus. As your student reads Scripture—or as you read together—use these questions to guide the conversation. You don’t need to turn it into a formal Bible study or have all the answers. Simply open God’s Word together, talk about what you see, and help your student consider how it shapes the way they live. 🎉 JAM Starts This Wednesday For families who also have younger children, JAM (Jesus and Me) begins this Wednesday, September 16! Who: Children in grades 1–5 Time: 6:30–8:00 PM Please note that Student Ministry begins at 6:00 PM, while JAM begins at 6:30 PM. If your family has children participating in both ministries, we hope this helps you plan for Wednesday night and gives your younger children an opportunity to connect and grow as well. 🙏 Pray With Us Please pray for our students this week: Desire — That they would want to know God through His Word. Understanding — That they would grow in their ability to read and understand Scripture. Response — That God’s Word would shape what they believe and how they live. Habits — That spending time in Scripture would become a regular part of their lives. Thank you for praying for our students and partnering with us as we support you, the primary disciplers of your children, as you help them know, love, and follow Jesus. We look forward to seeing our 6th–12th grade students Wednesday, September 16, from 6:00–8:00 PM at the Youth House! Praise God. Serve Others. Cultivate Disciples.

Student Update | Uprise & Wednesday Night
This Week in Student Ministry — Student Edition Wednesday is coming! We’ll eat together, have some fun, and continue our Foundations series as we dig a little deeper into what the Bible is actually for. Come hungry, bring your Bible, and bring a friend! 🥪 Eat • 🎲 Play • 📖 Grow ⏰ Wednesday | 6:00–8:00 PM 📍 Youth House Here’s the plan: 🥪 EAT — Grilled Cheese & Tater Tots! 🎲 PLAY — We’ll have some fun together and plenty of time to hang out and connect. 📖 GROW — We’re continuing our Foundations series and picking up where we left off last week. 📖 This Week: What Is the Bible For? Last week we started talking about whether we can trust the Bible, but we didn’t get through everything we had planned. So this Wednesday, we’re picking the conversation back up with another important question: What is the Bible actually for? We’ll look at 2 Timothy 3:16–17 and talk about what this passage teaches us about the purpose of Scripture. God didn’t give us the Bible simply so we could know more information. His Word teaches us, corrects us, trains us, and equips us to live as followers of Jesus. Bring your Bible Wednesday night! 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Before Wednesday, read 2 Timothy 3:16–17 again. This time, pay attention to the different things Paul says Scripture does. Then think about this question: What does God want His Word to do in my life? Come ready to talk about it Wednesday. 🙌 Uprise | This Friday & Saturday! Uprise is this Friday and Saturday, September 11–12! If you’re planning to go and haven’t signed up yet, I need to know by 8:00 AM Wednesday morning. I’m buying our tickets Wednesday morning, so this is your last chance to let me know you’re coming. All the event details are in the Uprise post:[Uprise Post Link] 🚐 Transportation Update I’m working out the final transportation plans today and will update the Uprise post later today with the Friday pickup/meetup plan. For Saturday, we’ll meet at the church at 11:00 AM. Make sure you check the Uprise post for the updated details. 🙏 Pray About It Take a few minutes this week and ask God to help you understand His Word and allow it to shape the way you live. And with Uprise coming up this weekend, pray that God would use our time together to encourage us, strengthen our faith, and help us grow closer to Jesus. Have something going on that you’d like prayer for? 📱 Text your prayer request to +1 (844) 790-9381. 📱 Stay in the Loop Want Student Ministry updates sent straight to your phone? Text STUDENTS to +1 (844) 790-9381 We’ll keep you updated about Wednesday nights, upcoming events, schedule changes, and other Student Ministry info. 👋 See You Wednesday! 6:00–8:00 PM at the Youth House Bring your Bible. Bring a friend. Come hungry. And come ready to answer: What is the Bible for? See you Wednesday!
