We've got a great couple of weeks coming up at PSC Student Ministry! This Wednesday, we're heading out into the community, eating tacos, and continuing our Foundations series. Plus, next week is our Pumpkin Party!
This Wednesday, October 21 – Let's Get SENT!
This week, we're putting our faith into action!
We're heading out into the neighborhood to invite kids and teens to our upcoming fall parties!
We've been talking about what it means to follow Jesus, and this is an opportunity to actually live it out. Being SENT means looking for ways to share God's love with the people around us.
A few things to remember:
- Wear comfortable shoes! We'll be doing some walking.
- Dress for the weather. We'll be outside for part of the evening.
- Come ready to meet people and invite them to join us!
You don't have to have all the answers or know exactly what to say. Just be friendly, be yourself, and help others feel welcome!
What's for Dinner?
TACOS!
After we're done inviting people, we'll head back to the Youth House for tacos and our Bible lesson.
Foundations – What Went Wrong?
Have you ever wondered why the world is so messed up?
This Wednesday, we're diving into Genesis 3, where we'll discover what happened when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God.
We'll talk about sin, temptation, and how our choices affect our relationship with God.
But here's something important: Even when humanity messed up, God wasn't finished with His plan!
Come ready to explore what Genesis 3 teaches us about ourselves and why we need Jesus.
NEXT WEEK – PUMPKIN PARTY!
Wednesday, October 28
Get ready for one of our favorite nights of the fall!
We're having our annual Pumpkin Party, and you won't want to miss it!
Here's what's happening:
- Pumpkin Food! We're eating all kinds of pumpkin-themed treats.
- Pumpkin Carving! Get creative and carve a pumpkin.
- Pumpkin Games! Be ready for some fun and competition.
- Costumes! You're welcome to dress up! Just make sure your costume is youth group appropriate.
BRING A FRIEND!
The Pumpkin Party is a perfect night to invite someone who doesn't normally come to youth group.
Think about someone at school, in your neighborhood, or on your team who might enjoy hanging out with us.
Your invitation might be exactly what someone needs to feel welcomed and connected.
Your Challenge This Week – Who Will You Invite?
Here's your challenge:
Think of ONE person you could invite to the Pumpkin Party.
It could be someone you've known for years or someone you've just met.
Then do three things:
- Pray for them. Ask God to give you an opportunity to invite them.
- Invite them. Don't overthink it! Just ask if they'd like to come.
- Make them feel welcome. If they come, help them feel like they belong.
Remember, being SENT isn't just something we talk about on Wednesday nights. It's something we live out every day!
Let's Be Praying!
This week, take some time to pray for:
- Courage: That God would help us step outside our comfort zones and reach out to others.
- Our Community: That the people we meet Wednesday will feel welcomed and loved.
- Our Friends: That God would give us opportunities to invite friends to the Pumpkin Party.
- Our Faith: That we would grow in our understanding of God and learn to trust Him with our choices.
See You Wednesday!
Come ready to walk, invite, eat tacos, and learn more about God!
And don't forget to start thinking about your Pumpkin Party costume!
You are SENT!
Praise God. Serve Others. Cultivate Disciples.
