Parents, this week Student Ministry returns to the Youth House!

As summer begins to wind down, we’ll start helping our students prepare for the transition back to school—not only academically, but spiritually. A new school year brings new routines, relationships, opportunities, and challenges. We want our students to enter it knowing that God has placed them right where they are for a purpose.

This week, I’ll introduce SENT, a simple framework that will help guide our students as they return to school:

S — See People: Look beyond ourselves and truly see the people God has placed around us.

E — Engage with Intentionality: Build meaningful relationships and connect with others purposefully.

N — Notice Needs: Pay attention to the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.

T — Tell About Jesus: Be ready to share the hope and love of Jesus through our words and actions.

We want students to recognize that they are SENT by God into their schools, teams, friend groups, and neighborhoods. Each day gives them opportunities to care for others, live out their faith, and make Jesus known.

This fall, we’ll also focus on a series of Foundations lessons. These lessons will help students develop a stronger understanding of what they believe and build a biblical foundation that can support them as they navigate everyday life. Together, SENT and Foundations will help students grow deeper in their faith and live it out with purpose.

Coming Up

Next week: Our students will visit some of our homebound church members. This will be a wonderful opportunity for them to serve, encourage others, and build relationships across generations.

August 19: We’ll hold a special Prayer for Schools, asking God to guide and protect our students, teachers, administrators, and school staff as the new year begins.

September 11–12: We’re looking forward to the Uprise Music Festival on Friday and Saturday! More information about this event will be shared soon.

Please pray that our students will begin this school year confident in who they are, attentive to what God is doing around them, and ready to make a difference wherever they are sent.

This Week in Student Ministry

This Wednesday, our students will have a special opportunity to serve and connect with some of our homebound church members. We’ll meet at the Youth House at 6:00 PM for dinner, then leave at 6:20 PM to make three visits. We plan to return to the Youth House by 8:00 PM. This is a meaningful opportunity for our students to give back, encourage members of our church family who aren’t able to be with us on Sundays, and build relationships across generations. We’re looking forward to an evening of conversation, encouragement, and showing the love of Christ in a simple but important way. Looking Ahead: Back-to-School Prayer Night Next week will be another special night as we gather for a Back-to-School Prayer Night. With students returning to school on August 20, we want to intentionally cover the new school year in prayer. We’ll travel to the Middle School and High School to pray over our schools, students, teachers, administrators, and staff. We’ll ask God for His protection, wisdom, courage, and opportunities for our students to live out their faith throughout the year. Parents are welcome to join us for this special time of prayer. We would love to have you come alongside our students as we pray for the school year ahead. We hope your student can be part of both of these meaningful Wednesday nights!

Uprise Fest 2026

Uprise Festival 2026 Prince Street Students is heading to Uprise Festival for two incredible days of live Christian music, worship, and time together! Uprise Festival will take place on Friday, September 11, and Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Shippensburg Community Fairgrounds. This year’s featured artists include Brandon Lake, Skillet, TOBYMAC, CeCe Winans, Crowder, and many more. Student accounts will offset a portion of the ticket price. The costs below are the remaining amounts students will pay after the student-account contribution has been applied: Full two-day event: $80 Friday only: $55 Saturday only: $55 Meals Students attending on Friday evening will need to provide their own food. On Saturday, Prince Street Students will provide food and drinks for the day. We would love for your student to join us for an unforgettable weekend of music, worship, and community! Annual Lake Day

🌊 Annual Student Ministry Lake Day Wednesday, July 29 One of our favorite days of the summer is almost here! Join us for our Annual Lake Day at Tatman Run Recreation Area at Raystown Lake for a full day of fun, fellowship, and making memories together. We'll spend the day swimming, playing games, enjoying the beach, and hanging out with friends. We'll also have jet skis available for students who would like to ride under adult supervision while following all safety guidelines. Event Details 📅 Date: Wednesday, July 29 🕗 Meet at Prince Street Church: 8:00 AM 🕘 Return: Approximately 9:00 PM 📍 Destination: Tatman Run Recreation Area – Raystown Lake Please Register Registration is required. Strong Church Formation

Join Us for Strong Church Formation What does it look like for Prince Street Church to continue growing—not simply bigger, but deeper? We are inviting members of our Prince Street Church family to join us on Saturday, September 12, 2026, as we travel to Devonshire Church in Harrisburg for the Strong Church Formation workshop. This gathering is an opportunity for us to learn, worship, and grow alongside other United Brethren churches while thinking intentionally about the kind of church God is calling us to become. Growing Deeper Together At the 2025 United Brethren National Conference, a new definition of a local congregation was embraced around three important expectations of a maturing church: Spiritually Alive Deepening our vitality in Christ and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus. Missionally Engaged Living out the life and mission of Christ in our community and our world. A New Church Directory Is Coming! One of the best parts of Prince Street Church is the people who make up our church family. This fall, we’re excited to create a new pictorial church directory—a wonderful way to help us put names with faces, strengthen relationships, and welcome new families into our church community. Photography sessions will be held: Friday, September 11 | 2:00–8:30 PM Saturday, September 12 | 10:00 AM–4:00 PM Every participating family will receive: A FREE 8×10 professional portrait A FREE Prince Street Church directory There is no obligation to purchase additional portraits, although they will be available if you choose to do so. Invite Your Family Family members who do not attend Prince Street Church are welcome to be photographed with you. They’ll receive a complimentary 8×10 portrait as well, although only Prince Street Church attenders will be included in the printed directory. Why Participate? Sons of the Shepherd

his past Sunday, our church family was blessed to hear from Matthew Robinson, founder of Sons of the Shepherd. Through his own journey of profound loss, God has given Matt a ministry dedicated to helping men navigate grief with biblical hope, authentic community, and steadfast faith. (Commission to Every Nation⁠) About Sons of the Shepherd Sons of the Shepherd exists to walk alongside men who are carrying the weight of grief, loss, and life’s unexpected hardships. The ministry provides encouragement, biblical teaching, and Christ-centered brotherhood for men learning to lead their families and continue following Jesus even in seasons of deep sorrow. Matt’s ministry was born out of personal experience after losing his first wife, Tiffanie, following a battle with cancer. Rather than allowing grief to define his life, God has used that journey to create a ministry that points hurting men to the hope and faithfulness of Christ. (Commission to Every Nation⁠) Why This Matters As followers of Christ, we are called to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2). Ministries like Sons of the Shepherd remind us that no one has to walk through grief alone. 🚗 Help Support Student Ministry Through Fair Parking

Each year, Prince Street Church has the opportunity to serve our community through Fair Parking, and we’d love for you to be part of it! We’ll be providing parking on the corner of Possum Hollow Road during the Shippensburg Fair on: Wednesday, July 22 Friday, July 24 Saturday, July 25 This year, all donations received will directly support the Prince Street Church Student Ministry, helping provide opportunities for students to grow in their faith, build Christ-centered relationships, and serve others. Volunteers Needed We’re looking for volunteers to serve 2–3 hour shifts helping direct parking and welcome guests.
