What’s Happening at Prince Street Church

June 7–14, 2026

Summer is here, and ministry is in full swing at Prince Street Church! From student events and Vacation Bible School preparations to opportunities for fellowship, service, and worship, there are many ways to get involved in the life of our church family this week.

Worship This Sunday

Join us this Sunday as Pastor John Shadle continues our sermon series through the book of Ruth with a message from Ruth chapter 2 titled “Providence in the Ordinary.” As we study Ruth’s story, we’ll be reminded that God is often working behind the scenes in the ordinary moments of life to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.

We’re also excited to celebrate a special milestone in the life of our church family. During the service, we will recognize Pastor Michael Gleason as he receives his Provisional License from the Church of the United Brethren in Christ. Please join us in thanking God for His calling and faithfulness and praying for Michael as he continues toward his National Conference License.

Student Ministries Hersheypark Trip

This Wednesday, June 10, our Student Ministries group will travel to Hersheypark for a day of fellowship, fun, and relationship building. We invite the entire church family to pray for our students and leaders as they spend time together.

The group will depart at 9:30 AM and return around 9:00 PM.

Vacation Bible School Is Coming Soon!

Vacation Bible School is one of our biggest outreach opportunities of the year, and preparations are underway.

Register Children Today

Registration is now open for children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends. Registering early helps our team prepare supplies and materials so we can provide the best possible experience for every child.

Volunteers Needed

We still need volunteers to help make VBS a success. Whether you enjoy teaching, crafts, games, decorating, hospitality, or behind-the-scenes support, there is a place for you to serve. This is a wonderful opportunity to invest in the next generation.

There are several upcoming opportunities to help prepare the church for VBS:

Teen Quest 50th Anniversary Celebration

Teen Quest will celebrate its 50th Anniversary on September 26. The day will include worship, dinner, testimonies, tours, special speakers, and opportunities to celebrate God’s faithfulness through the ministry.

Fair Vesper Community Choir

Interested in singing in a community choir for the Fair Vesper Service on July 19? Let us know—we’d love to connect you with this special ministry opportunity.

Prayer Focus

This week, we encourage our church family to pray that God would help us faithfully plant and water gospel seeds in the lives of those around us. Pray especially for our VBS preparations, our Children’s Ministry Team, our students attending Hersheypark, and missionary Ruth Rivera as she travels and serves overseas.

Sons of the Shepherd | July 5 Matt Robinson will be joining us on Sunday, July 5 during the Sunday School hour and briefly during worship to share about Sons of the Shepherd, a new ministry focused on helping widowed men after the loss of their wives. We encourage you to join us as we learn more about this ministry and how God is using it to care for those walking through grief and transition. Fair Vesper Service & Community Choir Each year, churches from across the Shippensburg area gather for a community worship service during Fair Week. We invite you to participate in this special opportunity for fellowship and worship. Fair Vesper Choir Rehearsal Date: Saturday, July 18 Time: 11:00 AM Location: Oasis of Love Church The choir will be singing two familiar songs, and copies will be available through the church office for anyone who would like to review them beforehand. Prince Street Church will be creating a new pictorial church directory with the help of Universal Church Directories. Additional details and scheduling information will be available soon. Looking Ahead PSC Ice Cream Social Date: Saturday, August 1 Make plans now to join us for a church-wide Ice Cream Social. Sign-ups will begin next week. Church Building Rekeying As part of our ongoing effort to be good stewards of our facilities and maintain the safety and security of our church buildings, the church has completed a building rekeying project and implemented a new Key Policy. If you have a need for a church key, forms are available at the Connection Center and may be returned through the church office mail slot. We encourage everyone to review the Key Policy, which is available at the back of the sanctuary and on the church website. Pastor Vacation Pastor John will be on vacation from July 5–19. During this time, Pastor Michael will be providing pastoral coverage and can be contacted regarding any pastoral concerns or needs. There is a lot happening in the life of our church family this week as we prepare for Vacation Bible School, gather for fellowship opportunities, and look ahead to next Sunday's Church Picnic. Happy Father's Day Today, we thank God for the fathers and father figures who have faithfully influenced our lives. As part of today's celebration, everyone will receive a small gift to pass along to a man who has been a godly example or "spiritual dad" in their life—a father, mentor, teacher, neighbor, or friend who has pointed them toward Christ. Church Picnic - June 28

There is something special about gathering around a table, sharing a meal, and spending time together outside the normal rhythms of Sunday morning. That's exactly what our Church Picnic is all about. On Sunday, June 28, we'll gather at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road for a morning of worship, fellowship, food, and fun. Whether you've been attending Prince Street Church for years or have only recently connected with us, we'd love for you to join us. We'll begin the morning with Donuts & Coffee at 10:00 AM, followed by our Worship Service at 10:45 AM. After worship, we'll enjoy a catered meal together at noon, followed by games, activities, and plenty of opportunities to relax and spend time with one another. Teen Quest 50th Anniversary Celebration Teen Quest will celebrate its 50th Anniversary on September 26. The day will include worship, dinner, testimonies, tours, special speakers, and opportunities to celebrate God’s faithfulness through the ministry. Prayer Focus This week, we encourage our church family to pray that God would help us faithfully plant and water gospel seeds in the lives of those around us. Pray especially for our VBS preparations, our Children’s Ministry Team, our students attending Hersheypark, and missionary Ruth Rivera as she travels and serves overseas.
