We've got food, a creative project, and some fun planned for you! 🎨 This Wednesday | Foundations: Who Is God? Over the past few weeks, we've been learning about God's nature and character—who He is and what makes Him God! This Wednesday, we're switching things up! Instead of our normal lesson, we're going to get creative! You'll have the opportunity to create something that reminds us of God's nature and character. And here's the cool part: Your creations will become decorations in the Youth House! Every time we gather, we'll have reminders of who God is and what we've learned about Him. 🌭 What's for Dinner? Parents, here's what's happening this week at Prince Street Student Ministry! We're looking forward to another great Wednesday night of food, fellowship, and growing together in our understanding of God. 📖 This Wednesday | Foundations: Who Is God? Over the past few weeks, we've been studying the nature and character of God, learning more about who He is and what Scripture reveals about Him. This Wednesday, we're going to do something a little different! Students will use what they've learned to complete a creative project that will serve as a reminder of God's nature and character. Their creations will become decorations in the Youth House, serving as ongoing reminders of who God is each time we gather together. Our goal is to help students remember that knowing who God is changes how we see Him, how we trust Him, and how we live each day. 🍽️ What's for Dinner? This week's menu: 🌭 Hot Dogs 🧀 Mac and Cheese 🍦 Ice Cream for Dessert! Dinner begins at 6:00 PM, followed by our activities and lesson. 🏠 Parent Challenge | Who Is God? This week, take a few minutes before Wednesday to talk with your student about what they've been learning. Ask your student: "What is one thing you've learned about God's character or nature that has changed how you think about Him?" Take some time to discuss their answer together. Grades 6–12 🍽️ Dinner: Creamy Ranch Chicken 📖 Foundations: The Character of God This week we’re continuing our Foundations series as we talk about the character of God. Last week, we looked at God’s nature—who God is. This week, we’ll build on that foundation by looking at His character—what God is like. We’ll explore Scripture to see how God describes Himself and what His character means for how we know Him, trust Him, and live in relationship with Him. Parent Challenge — Before Wednesday Sometime before Wednesday night, ask your student: “If you had to describe what God is like using three words, what words would you choose?” Don’t worry about finding the “right” answers. Let them explain why they chose those words. Then share three words you would use to describe God. Encourage your student to come Wednesday ready to compare your answers with what we discover about God’s character in Scripture. 🙏 Pray Together Before Wednesday, take a moment to pray with your student. Ask God to help them see more clearly who He is as we open His Word together this week. 🎃 Coming Up: Pumpkin Party! Don’t forget—the last Wednesday in October is our Pumpkin Party! This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 30 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Meatball Subs We’ll eat together, play a game, spend time connecting, and continue building a foundation for what we believe and why we believe it. 📖 This Week in Foundations: Who Is God? There may not be a more important question than “Who is God?” What we believe about God shapes the way we understand ourselves, the world around us, and what it means to follow Jesus. This week, we’ll focus on the nature of God—helping students understand who God is. Then, next Wednesday, we’ll continue the conversation by looking at the character of God. Our goal isn’t simply for students to know more facts about God. We want them to grow in their understanding of who God is, so that they can increasingly know Him, trust Him, and follow Him. 🏠 Parent Challenge: Start the Conversation Before Wednesday night, take a few minutes to ask your student: “If someone asked you, ‘Who is God?’ how would you answer?” Then give them space to answer in their own words. The goal isn’t to quiz them or see if they can give the “right” answer. Instead, use the question to start a conversation and get a glimpse of how your student currently understands God. If the conversation keeps going, you might ask: What makes you say that? Where have you learned that about God? What is something about God you don’t understand or have questions about? Then, after Wednesday, come back to the conversation. Ask your student what they learned about the nature of God and whether anything from the night added to or changed the way they answered the question. You don’t have to have all the answers. One of the simplest ways you can disciple your student is to talk about God together, listen to their questions, and keep pointing them back to His Word. 🎃 Pumpkin Party Is Coming! The last Wednesday in October will be our Student Ministry Pumpkin Party! We’re planning a fun night with: 🎃 Pumpkin carving 🍽️ Pumpkin-themed food 🎲 Pumpkin games Students are welcome to wear costumes, as long as they are appropriate for youth group. This is also a great night for students to invite their friends! Start encouraging your student now to think about someone they could bring with them. We’ll share more details as we get closer. It’s going to be a gourd time! 🎃 🙏 Pray With Us Please pray for our students this week: Understanding — That they would develop a biblical understanding of who God is. Questions — That students would feel comfortable asking honest questions about God and what they believe. Trust — That knowing more about who God is would lead them to trust Him more deeply. Growth — That these conversations wouldn’t simply give students more information, but would help them know, love, and follow God. Thank you for partnering with us as we support you, the primary disciplers of your children, in helping them know, love, and follow Jesus. 📍 Youth House Here’s the plan: 🥞 EAT — Pancakes & Sausage! 🎲 PLAY — We’ll have some fun together and plenty of time to hang out and connect. 📖 GROW — We’re talking about the different kinds of writing found in the Bible and why they matter. Bring your Bible! 📖 This Week: Why Does Genre Matter? The Bible is one big Story, but it contains many different kinds of writing. There’s history. Poetry. Prophecy. Wisdom. Letters. And more. Think about it: you don’t read a poem the same way you read a history book. You don’t read a letter the same way you read a proverb. The same is true when you read the Bible. This Wednesday, we’ll learn how recognizing the genre of a passage can help you better understand what you’re reading and what God is communicating through His Word. The goal isn’t just to learn a bunch of Bible terms. We want to give you tools that help you read and understand the Bible for yourself. 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Want to see the difference genre makes? Read these two passages: 📖 Psalm 23

Parents, here’s what’s coming up this week in Student Ministry! This Wednesday, we’ll continue our Foundations series as we help students learn how to read and understand Scripture for themselves. This week, we’re looking at the different genres found in the Bible and why recognizing them matters when we read God’s Word. This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 23 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Pancakes & Sausage 📖 This Week in Foundations: Genres in Scripture The Bible is one Story, but it contains many different kinds of writing. This week, students will learn about genres found throughout Scripture, including history, poetry, prophecy, wisdom literature, letters, and more. Why does that matter? We don’t read a poem the same way we read a history book, and we don’t read a letter exactly the same way we read a proverb. Recognizing what kind of writing we’re reading helps us slow down, pay attention to what the biblical authors are communicating, and understand God’s Word more clearly. Our goal isn’t simply for students to know the names of different genres. Let your student do some of the thinking. Ask questions, listen to what they notice, and talk about it together. From September 13 through October 3, Prince Street Church is setting aside 21 days to seek God together. During these 21 days, we are encouraging everyone in our church family to pray one simple prayer each day: “Holy Spirit, help me see where You are at work today and give me courage to join You.” To help us pray together, we are sharing a new post each day on the Prince Street Church Facebook page. Each post includes a short reflection and a specific prayer focus based on one of three prompts: Spirit, lead me.
What does God want to do in my life? Spirit, lead our church.
How is God leading Prince Street Church? Spirit, lead us into our community.

Prince Street Church has begun a 21-day prayer emphasis, September 13 through October 3. During these 21 days, our church family is praying one simple prayer each day: “Holy Spirit, help me see where You are at work today and give me courage to join You.” Parents, we would love for you to participate—and to invite your family to pray with you. This Week in Student Ministry — Student Edition We had a great time at Uprise Fest this weekend! Thanks to everyone who came and spent the weekend with us. It was a lot of fun worshiping together, listening to some great music, and having extra time to hang out. Now it’s a new week, and Wednesday night is coming! We’re continuing our Foundations series with a really practical question: How do you actually read the Bible and let it shape your life? 🌮 Eat • 🎲 Play • 📖 Grow ⏰ Wednesday | 6:00–8:00 PM

We didn’t get our grilled cheese last week, so we’re trying again. 🎲 PLAY — We’ll have some fun together and plenty of time to hang out and connect. 📖 GROW — We’re continuing our Foundations series and learning how to read Scripture for ourselves. Bring your Bible! 📖 This Week: How Do We Let the Bible Shape Us? We’ve spent the last couple of weeks talking about why we can trust the Bible and what we believe about Scripture. We learned from 2 Timothy 3:16–17 that Scripture is God-breathed and is meant to teach, reprove, correct, and train us. But how does that actually happen? This Wednesday, we’re going to give you a simple tool you can use anytime you open your Bible. When you read Scripture, ask these four questions: What does this Scripture say about God and His character? What does this Scripture say that God does? What does this Scripture say about who we are? In light of this Scripture, how do I get to live? You don’t need to be a Bible expert to read and understand God’s Word. These questions can help you slow down, pay attention to what Scripture says, and think about how it shapes your life. 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Don’t wait until Wednesday to try the four questions. Read Titus 3:1–7 and ask the Four Questions above. Write down your answers or just think through them. Pay special attention to the words “But when…” in verse 4. What changes in the passage, and why? You don’t need to come up with the “perfect” answers. Slow down, pay attention to what the passage actually says, and come ready to talk about what you discovered Wednesday. 🙏 Prayer Challenge This week, ask God to: Give you a desire to spend time in His Word. Help you understand what you read. Show you how His Word should shape the way you live. Help time in Scripture become a regular habit in your life. Student Ministry Parent Update | This Week We had a great time together at Uprise Fest this weekend! It was good to spend time with our students, enjoy the music and activities, and continue building relationships as a Student Ministry. This Wednesday, we’re back at the Youth House and continuing our Foundations series. We’ll move from talking about what we believe about Scripture to something very practical: How do we actually allow Scripture to shape the way we live? This Wednesday Date: Wednesday, September 16 Time: 6:00–8:00 PM Location: Youth House Who: Students in 6th–12th grade Dinner: Grilled Cheese & Tater Tots Since we didn’t end up having grilled cheese last week, we’re giving it another try! 📖 What We’ve Been Learning Two weeks ago, we talked about why we can trust the Bible. Last week, we built on that by looking at 2 Timothy 3:16–17. Scripture is God-breathed and is given to equip us through teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness. This week, we’re asking the practical follow-up: How do we actually allow Scripture to do those things in our lives? This Week: How Do We Let the Bible Shape Us? We’re going to give students a simple framework they can use when reading Scripture for themselves. We’ll encourage them to ask four questions: What does this Scripture say about God and His character? What does this Scripture say that God does? What does this Scripture say about who we are? In light of this Scripture, how do I get to live? Our goal is to help students move beyond simply knowing things about the Bible and learn how to engage with God’s Word and allow it to shape what they believe and how they live. 🏠 For Parents: Use These Questions at Home These four questions can be a helpful tool as you disciple your student at home. As parents, you are your student’s primary disciplers, and everyday conversations around God’s Word are an important part of helping them know, love, and follow Jesus. As your student reads Scripture—or as you read together—use these questions to guide the conversation. You don’t need to turn it into a formal Bible study or have all the answers. Simply open God’s Word together, talk about what you see, and help your student consider how it shapes the way they live. 🎉 JAM Starts This Wednesday For families who also have younger children, JAM (Jesus and Me) begins this Wednesday, September 16! Who: Children in grades 1–5 Time: 6:30–8:00 PM Please note that Student Ministry begins at 6:00 PM, while JAM begins at 6:30 PM. We’ll look at 2 Timothy 3:16–17 and talk about what this passage teaches us about the purpose of Scripture. God didn’t give us the Bible simply so we could know more information. His Word teaches us, corrects us, trains us, and equips us to live as followers of Jesus. Bring your Bible Wednesday night! 🔥 This Week’s Challenge Before Wednesday, read 2 Timothy 3:16–17 again. As we near the end of our 2026 churchwide Bible Reading Plan, we have an opportunity to slow down and look back at some of the Old Testament prophecies pointing forward to the coming Messiah. Beginning the week of October 12, we’ll finish the book of Malachi and complete our journey through the Old Testament. To carry us toward the Christmas season, we’re inviting our church family to take on a special Bible Reading Challenge: Prophecies and Their Fulfillments. The Challenge Throughout the Old Testament, we find many prophecies concerning the coming Messiah. For this challenge, we’ll focus on just a few of them. The readings are already included in our Bible Reading Plan. The challenge is to read each prophecy and then see if you can find where it is fulfilled or quoted in the New Testament. Some will be easy to recognize. For example, Psalm 22 begins: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Those words are familiar from the accounts of Jesus' crucifixion. Other prophecies may require a little more searching. How to Participate Challenge sheets will be available on the tables in the back of the sanctuary or right here through this link. The sheet lists each prophecy and provides space for you to write the corresponding New Testament reference or references.Bible Reading Plan and Instructions As you work through the challenge, you can use: Your Bible's cross-references or chain references A Bible concordance Other Bible study tools Looking Toward Christmas We'll continue exploring these prophecies through the week before Christmas. Then, as we approach Christmas Day, we'll turn our attention to the Christmas story itself and read through the accounts of Christ's birth through the end of the year. The very first prophecy concerning the coming Messiah appears in Genesis 3. From the beginning, Scripture points us toward Jesus, our Savior. As we read these passages together, our hope is that you'll see more clearly how the whole story of Scripture points to Christ and how faithfully God fulfills His promises. Prayer Partner-Questions answered
Church Family, As part of our “Spirit, Lead Us” emphasis this fall, we are excited to launch our new Prayer Partner Ministry on Sunday, October 11. The heart behind this ministry is simple: we want to become a church that prays more intentionally for one another. Those who participate will be paired with another person from Prince Street Church and commit to regularly praying for and encouraging one another through the end of May. As we get closer to the launch, we wanted to answer some questions you may have: What is the Prayer Partner Ministry?
It is an opportunity to be paired with another person from our church family for the purpose of intentionally praying for and encouraging one another. You'll share prayer needs, pray for your partner throughout the week, and stay connected throughout the year. Why are we doing this?
We believe prayer should be more than something we talk about. We want it to become an increasingly important part of who we are as a church family. This ministry gives us a simple, practical way to care for one another and seek the Holy Spirit together. How do I sign up?

• Circle “P” on your Connection Card on Sunday morning Please sign up by Sunday, October 4 so that we have time to pair everyone. How will you decide who I'm paired with?
We will prayerfully make the pairings rather than randomly assigning names. Our goal will be to create partnerships that can encourage meaningful prayer and connection throughout our church family. Men will be paired with men, and women will be paired with women. Spouses will also have their own prayer partners rather than being paired together. When will I find out who my prayer partner is?
After sign-ups close on October 4, we will assign prayer partners during the following week. You will know who your prayer partner is before October 11. What is happening on October 11?
We will officially launch the Prayer Partner Ministry with a luncheon after worship on Sunday, October 11. This will be a relaxed opportunity to meet with your prayer partner, get to know one another better, exchange contact information, share some initial prayer requests, talk about how you would like to stay connected, and begin praying for one another. We'll also provide some simple guidance and resources to help you get started. You don't need to come to the luncheon knowing exactly what to do! What if I want to participate but can't attend the luncheon on October 11?
That's okay! You can still participate even if you can't be at the luncheon. We will make sure you know who your prayer partner is and provide you with the information and resources you need. You and your partner can then find another time to connect and get started. What is expected of me and how often should we connect?
The main commitment is to pray regularly for your partner and stay in contact. There is no requirement to meet in person every week. You might connect through a text, phone call, conversation on Sunday morning, or occasionally get together in person. The goal isn't to create another meeting for your calendar. It's simply to intentionally pray for and encourage one another. Do I have to pray out loud with my partner?
No. We certainly hope prayer partners become comfortable praying together, but you do not need to be an experienced or confident public pray-er to participate. The most important thing is that you are willing to faithfully pray for your partner. What if I already have someone I regularly pray with?
That's great! This ministry isn't intended to replace the prayer relationships you already have. Instead, it is another opportunity to intentionally connect with and pray for someone within our church family. What if I don't know my prayer partner very well?
That's okay! In fact, that's part of the opportunity. This can be a great way to build a relationship with someone in the church you may not know very well yet while encouraging one another through prayer. What if my prayer partner shares something personal with me?
Prayer requests should be treated with care and confidentiality. Unless someone gives you permission to share their request, it should remain between you and your prayer partner. What if I have trouble connecting with my prayer partner?
Don't worry or feel like you've failed. Let us know! We understand that schedules and circumstances can change. We want this to be a meaningful experience and are happy to help if you're having difficulty connecting or something isn't working. Will we just be paired together and then be on our own?
No. We will have quarterly check-ins throughout the year to see how things are going, offer encouragement, and help with any challenges that may come up. We will also have a mid-year luncheon on Sunday, January 31 to reconnect and continue growing together in prayer. Who should participate?
Anyone in our church family who wants to grow in prayer and intentionally pray for someone else is encouraged to participate. You don't need to be a prayer expert. You simply need to be willing. Our hope isn't to create another program to keep us busy. Our hope is to cultivate a church where praying for one another becomes a natural part of how we love, encourage, and walk alongside each other. As we continue asking, “Spirit, Lead Us,” we believe one of the ways He leads us is toward deeper dependence on God and deeper care for one another. Ready to participate?
